Frequently Asked Questions
The iPads are intended for use at school each day. In addition to teacher expectations for iPad use, school messages, announcements, calendars and homework pages may be accessed using the iPad. Students must bring their iPad to all classes, unless specifically instructed not to do so by their teacher.
*Students must purchase insurance in order to bring their iPad home.
I left my iPad at Home. Now what?
If students leave their iPad at home, they are responsible for getting the course work completed as if they had their iPad present. If a student repeatedly leaves their iPad at home, they will lose at home privileges of the iPad and will have to leave their iPads in school.
My iPad is Undergoing Repairs. Can I get a loaner?
Loaner iPads may be issued to students when they leave their iPads for repair at the following locations:
High School Media Center- Mrs. Kakaty or Ms. Gritz
Middle School Media Center- Mrs. Novak or Mrs. Scerbo
Note: There may be a delay in getting an iPad should the school not have enough to loan. Please see the "Lost/Damaged/Stolen" section of this website for further details.
I'm having issues with my iPad, where and when can I go for help?
There will be live tech support available daily in the High School Media center during lunch as well as 2:45-3:15 every day.
Can I Charge my iPad at school?
iPads must be brought to school each day in a fully charged condition. Students need to charge their iPads each evening (but not overnight). Repeat violations will result in students losing at home privileges.
Can I set my Screen Savers/Background to whatever I want?
Inappropriate media may not be used as a screensaver or background photo. Inappropriate media includes, but is not limited to, the presence of guns, weapons, pornographic materials, inappropriate language, tobacco, alcohol, drug, gang related symbols or pictures and will result in disciplinary actions.
How do I print from my iPad
Students will be given more specific information and instruction on printing with the iPad in class.
Can I use my iPad at home?
iPads will only connect to the Internet through a wireless connection. The cable provided with the iPad is to be used for charging only, the iPads should never be connected to a personal computer. Students are permitted to set up wireless networks on their iPads for connection outside of school, however, all regulations pertaining to appropriate school use still apply.
How Do I Backup my iPad?
You should have turned on iCloud Data Backup when you sent up your Ramsey Apple ID. Here are the steps to turn it on if you missed it in the inital setup:
- Tap Settings > iCloud.
- If you're using iOS 8, tap Storage > Manage Storage > Backups.
- If you're using an earlier version of iOS, tap Storage & Backup > Manage Storage.
- Tap the name of your iOS device.
- Under Backup Options, turn off any apps that you don't want to back up. When you're asked to confirm, choose Turn Off & Delete to turn off Backup for that app and remove all of its data from iCloud.
I am moving. How can I take the work I have saved in my Google Drive?
You can access and download your Google data—whether to import it to another service or just to create your own copy.
- On your computer, visit the Download your Data page - https://www.google.com/settings/takeout
- Choose the products you want to download the data for, then click Next.
- Choose your file type and delivery method, then click Create archive.
